Ask Yourself These Questions

Chicago Search Engine Optimization for Law Firms

Illinois Online Advertising for Attorneys

Can you be contacted easily?

When you put your name into the search engines do you come up on the first page? Then is there a way to contact you outside of business hours?

Can you be found by your referrals?

Many lawyers tell me that the majority of their business comes from referrals. If you are a consumer and you have been given two lawyers names one of the first things they do is try to locate you and see if you can handle their particular type of case.

If they go to Google or any of the search engines and you are not present or worse yet your firm name and address is outdated they may not be able to contact you easily and give up.

If they type in a second lawyer and find them you may have missed an opportunity for a client that you did not know about.

Can your clients find out all you can do for them?

Perhaps this is a client you have helped in the past with a divorce case and now they need a will drawn up. They may go to the web without even calling you to see if you can handle this as well. If there is no mention of that on your website they may just move on without contacting you again.

Does everyone know what services you provide?

Perhaps a family member has got injured in a car crash in Chicago and need to locate an attorney that can help them. Does your website urge them to contact you so you can continue to be of assistance in reviewing their injury so you can make a recommendation if you cannot handle the case?

Are you gaining new clients from the website?

Websites that are optimized for generic search terms as well as long tail search bring in new clients with specific needs. Many of my clients drive new specific types of clients by marketing information to them.

What's the point in having a website if you can't be found?

Many attorneys have websites that are not found on Google, yahoo or msn search engines. You have to ask the question what is the purpose of the site. If it is merely an online brochure purely used as a place holder to be found only when someone types in the url then it is serving its purpose. You have to hope that everyone know the url exactly else it may be accidentally missed.

If it was designed to make sure that any time someone typed in an attorneys name and their area of practice then you'd better make sure it can be found.

Want to grow your business through the internet?

Since the advent of the internet it has been the great equalizer for business. On the internet you have a 24/7 presence that when it is well designed gives your clients a way to find and always contact you easily.

It is a tool now for people to do research on a particular practice area of the law and seek out lawyers who can specifically help them.

It is through the information that is held on the website that you can truly stand out from the rest.

Do you know how to harness essential elements for successful online client development?
